Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has left the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and joined the People’s Party of Kenya. Nyoro announced his move during a media briefing on Monday, August 17, 2026, where he also declared that he and his supporters would now align themselves with the opposition. The outspoken legislator said that, alongside his followers and fellow members of the People’s Party of Kenya, they had officially joined the opposition. “As Ndindi Nyoro and my supporters, from today, I have joined a party called the People’s Party of Kenya. As members of the People’s Party of Kenya, we have today joined the opposition,” Nyoro said.
