George Ruto’s matatu venture is set for another expansion, with six new vehicles reportedly being prepared under the 98 SACCO brand.

A video shared on Thursday, September 17, 2026, by matatu electrician @jaramba_lighting showed six vehicles inside a workshop undergoing customisation. The matatus were displayed with colourful lighting, while the post was captioned “98 Logistics.”

The development follows the emergence of 98 Logistics, a project previously associated with Raptor Fam, the group behind the customised matatus linked to George Ruto. Earlier reports showed several vehicles being fitted with 98 Logistics branding, although details on the project’s exact structure and operations remain limited.

The 98 SACCO was reported to have been launched in June 2026 and has been associated with the Raptor Family fleet, which includes vehicles such as Raptor, Money Fest, Matrix, Mood, Baba Yaga, Manifest and Ambush. Reports have linked the vehicles to routes serving areas including Embakasi and Ongata Rongai.

The latest development has generated attention among matatu enthusiasts, particularly because of the elaborate lighting and customisation associated with Nairobi’s nganya culture.

However, reports differ on some details surrounding the new vehicles, including their exact routes, ownership structure and the final operational model of 98 Logistics. Earlier coverage has also noted that the legal ownership of individual vehicles has not been independently established through publicly reviewed NTSA records.

If the six vehicles are deployed as reported, they would mark another expansion of the 98 brand within Nairobi’s competitive public transport sector.
